It's indeed a good day for Nigerians as many will wake up to the news of both WizKid and Burna Boy winning their first Grammys award. Wizkid won the award for his collaboration with Beyonce on the song, "Brown Skin Girl". The song won the award of the best music video.
Burna Boy definitely came back twice as tall after he lost the award last year. His album, twice as tall, won the award of the best global album. It's indeed great to see African artists taking African music to the world. There have been several arguments about whether the duo will be the first set of Nigerians to win a Grammys award. People have mentioned the likes of Sade Adu, Seal and few others who have Nigerian origin and have won the award.
However, most of these people had their careers outside the country and may don't even claim being a Nigerian. That aside, congratulations have flown in for the duo from prominent people. Politicians and even their fellow artists have praised and congratulated the duo.
Worthy of mention are Atiku Abubakar, Omoyele Sowore, Ice Prince, Ebuka Uchendu, Adekunle Gold, Simi and many other have congratulated the two on their success. It's indeed a good day for Nigerian music.
